Good morning. As far as I know Aerosure is supposed to help those with COPD which emphysema comes under. My husband has COPD but has never tried Aerosure. Someone else might know more and will reply soon.

Take care xxx

I have one , but now it spends its time shut in a drawer , never used.

If you type Aerosure into the search box top right hand side of the page , replies from previous posts will show up .

There are contraindications for use

I can't advise on the use of an aerosure with emphysema as I have bronchiectasis but I can confirm that emphysema, along with chronis bronchitis, comes under the term of COPD.

I have emphysema and my doctor recommended using an Aerobika. I have bought one but haven’t tried it yet. I’m not sure the difference between the Aerobika and the Aerosure but your doctor should be able to tell you and advise which would be best for you.

COPD is a collective name given to Emphysema and chronic bronchitis, the Aerosure is an expensive flutter device. Flutter devices are designed to loosen mucus making it easier to shift, one like the Aerobika are available on prescription in the UK from a doctor. There are lots on Amazon at various prices, an other option is to fill a 1 litre bottle with water and blow into it through a straw this also produces the vibration effect in the lungs. I have Emphysema and can’t use a flutter device as I have had lung bleeds, but I do practice diaphragm breathing techniques which I find helps
