has anyone tried one of these machines and if so have they seen any improvement in their breathing. I have severe emphysema. Thank you.

I have one , used it at first but it now lives in a drawer .

They are not suitable for everyone , and if you type aerosure into the search box on the top right hand corner , you will see lots of replies to similar questions in the past .

Try typing aerosure not airosure in the search box

it’s a shame the company won’t let people try it because some find it very helpful but for others like me it made no difference at all. But I have bronchiectasis and asthma, not emphysema. It’s a lot of money to pay out if it doesn’t work. If the company had a lot of faith in their product you’d think they’d offer a trial period wouldn’t you?

If it is a flutter device you can get one on prescription, if appropriate, and the respiratory team will teach you how to use it effectively. I get so cross with some of these companies selling devices that promise miracle results to sick, scared people.

Looking at this item in the internet it seems it is designed to help shift mucous from the lungs. As someone has already said if you need a device to do this then the NHS will prescribe. I also assume that it is an inspiratory trainer to strengthen the intercostal muscles and the diaphragm ?

I find that movement and exercise is the best help for me. I assume you have completed a PR course ? Do you have a local gentle exercise group that you could join or does your local health provision have a PR maintenance class you could join ?

Good wishes,

Pauline

I got one, but only find it helpful when I have a cold or infection that produces a lot of mucous. Diaphragm singing is better and cheaper - check out on YouTube.
