I just wanted to thank everyone who has commented on my post about Oramorph.

I hope I have replied to everyone but if I’ve missed you, I’m sorry!

My mind has been put at rest and I’ll give it a go 😊

Hi Lynn. Re your recent post on oramorph, I have end stage Copd and share many of your issues, plus crohns disease and osteoporosis so have a lot of pain and have been on various opiates all my life. I think if you stick to as low dose as poss it is okay as I now have such a tolerance that nothing works... However, be careful with oramorph if you're having real trouble breathins as it has caused me respiratory failure by surpressing breathing during an exacerbation, although I was having one a month exactly 29 days apart and ended up in resuss 3 times in 3 months recently. Very scary. I haven't had another episode despite taking oramorph since I stopped hrt and smoking. I do avoid certain foods anyway because of crohns but have read an awful lot about dairy exacerbating mucus overproduction and cutting that out is really easy to do and well worth a try, as are antihistamines. I am allergic to carbocysteine unfortunately. Nice to connect with you as we relatively young ones are quite rare to have such severe issues. Hope this may help in some way.

Hi Lucy, thank you for sharing your experiences. I do hope you’re ok at the minute. You’ve certainly been through some awful times. Good for you for giving up smoking 💪 That can only have a positive effect on your health.

I will be mindful not to increase doses of Oramorph during exacerbations, it certainly sounds like you had some scary episodes.

Thank you so much for your advice

Reading all the comments on here about Oramorth, I'm going to ask my Dr if I can take it as I have severe COPD & extremely breathless & hoping it will help me. I would like to know how you get on with it & if it helps your breathlessness. Good luck. xx

Hi Paco19613, I never actually took the Oramorph that had been prescribed for me by my COPD team. Sorry I’m no help.
