I have had COPD for over 10 years, Been taking Spiriva then Braltus. Recentiy had a C T,scan and showed Emphysema.I have had quite a lot of flare ups over winter,Dr changed meds to Ujtibro;I am coughing and clearing my throat bringing phlegm op. its light coloured and quite sticky .Braltus didnt effect me like this. My question is should I be coughing up like this.is that how ultibro works. Or was the Braltus better suited to me for not bringing mucus up. .Rose x

If its there it heeds to be brought up, my guess is that Braitus wasn't doing much but the new meds started to ...so it might be best to continue with it I know from my own experience I was on Spiriva for years which helped a lot for clearing it and feeling clear too ....Braitus wasn't as good...

Carbocisteine are good and they thin the mucus ...

I can't advice on copd but would say if this is not right for you Rose I would go back to the doctor and let him know, if you didnt have a problem with phlegm before then you shouldn't now x

Hi r0yal: Hope things are getting better for you! When they stopped making spiriva, I could not afford the newer replacement. I pretty much had exacerbation every other month or more. I decided to get serious about losing some weight. I started a weight loss clinic run by doctors. The weight loss changed my world. I am no longer on oxygen except for harsh activities; and I rarely have exacerbations. I have lost 60 plus lbs. The only meds I have for COPD now are prn only. I am liking this this better. Good luck to you!🥰
