I have COPD & am using home oxygen at night. I wish to buy an oxygen generator & would really appreciate suggestions based on personal experience. There are so many machines ranging from approx.£500 to £2000 that I 'm very confused. I am currently on 2L flow rate per min & i have been on oxygen over night for 3 months.

Would it be worth discussing it with your respiratory nurse? If you are thinking of an oxygen concentrator they are available on loan.

Hi 160496, when you say you use at night, do you mean at bedtime whilst you sleep, or are you saying you need a Portable Oxygen Concentrator for walking and exercise outside? If that’s the case and you’re based in the United Kingdom, your oxygen supplier should provide it for you, as long as it’s been prescribed by your Respiratory Nurse.

The only time you need to buy or hire your Oxygen Concentrator or POC is if you’re going on holiday outside the UK, as CDPO16 said you should discuss it with your Oxygen Nurse and they will advise you.

I hope I have been some help,

Ian.

I have found the Phillips concentrator very reliable. I have had mine 7 years with no problems. I just get it serviced every year. Sorry it’s in euros my Amazon defaults to Germany

If you need to be on oxygen then you should be provided with a Concentrater by your Respiratory team. xxSheila

Hi 160496, if it’s to take abroad I would recommend Intermedical intermedicaldirect.co.uk/pr..., I use this company regularly for parts and filters for my own Inogen One G3 POC another company I have used is Oxygen Direct oxygendirect.co.uk/oxygen-c... they are also very good, also because you use oxygen at home anyway to treat your condition, your eligible for purchasing your Oxygen Concentrator VAT free, you just fill in the form online, giving a brief description of your condition and your home address.

I hope I have been some help.

Ian.
