Drug Combination Lowers Risk of Asthma Attacks By 24% ‘This Represents a Paradigm Shift’
Is this spam? As I stupidly I clicked on it and its selling a bracelet....
Not spam, there is an article regarding a trial of an inhaler containing albuterol (salbutamol) alongside budesonide to be taken as a reliever. Without reading the study itself, it’s hard to say just how game-changing it is, but the interviewed doctor described it as a paradigm shift. It apparently reduced asthma attacks by 24% and the need for oral steroids by 33% in the trial group versus salbutamol alone.
Thanks I don't know if it's my predsomnia or exhaustion from lil one being in with asthma but when I clicked was trying to sell me a bracelet 🤦🏽♀️thought I'd been had!
Sounds like a good idea. I’m on a mart regime, which is similar. I take Fostair 200/6 as my maintenance inhaler, with a 100/6 as a reliever but with limitations., so I do occasionally still use my blue inhaler. This proposed new regime seems like an extension of that.I’m all for it. Tackle the problem not just the symptom.
Interesting research 🧐 thank you for posting 😁
Thanks, have saved and will print and send a copy to the Asthma Nurse, as they still will only give me Salamol, even though my wheezes are getting worse.
Hi, just picked up on your remark of only getting Salamol. I understand your frustration that most lung patients seem to go through. Sometimes it’s as if we’re a 2nd class illness, and don’t always get the treatment and medication that we require individually. I can’t get on with Salamol and compared the ingredients and as well as the salbutamol it also contains alcohol. I also find the canister difficult to use, and it isn’t so effective on me as Ventolin. The surgery pharmacist is deciding whether I can have Ventolin or not. It seems that the nhs has decided that Salamol is the inhaler to use as the local hospital also uses them. No doubt it’s all to do with money. Hope your wheeze is easing.
Interesting! Thank you for sharing!
