I woke up this morning fighting for breath. I reached out for the tin of elastoplast at the side of my bed and managed to prise the lid open. I took one out and began to stretch it, wondering how that would help me to breath. And where should I stick it on my body? Do the strips contain oxygen? Perhaps I should chew it? Has anyone tried?

Elastoplast!
Your post is so funny now I’m fighting for breath. I think I should stick the Elastoplast on my big toe to cure the gout that I don’t have, which is about as relevant as the whole +lung idea. I’m pretty sure someone will have an idea where BLF (or whatever they’re calling themselves now) can stick their Elastoplast. 😳
Thanks HH. Glad you saw the funny side. I guess this re-brand went to an advertising firm who thought 1) purple = dying and 2) Elastoplast = repair. Hey ho, let's put Elastoplast patches on the lettering of the new brand name. Let's be thankful they didn't use a tombstone as a logo. The sad thing is that the guys that run this forum, or the charity itself, failed to see the negativity in all of this. It is about living, not dying.
🤣🤣🤣 love it, where to stick is the million dollar question! But I do hope you wasn't actually fighting for breath.
My sore toe might benefit from the Elastoplast or I could stick it across my phone so I don’t have to see the new logo. Xx🥴🤐💜
I like the latter idea Carole. xx
Ha ha ha love it x
When did this happen? Ive not been on here for a couple of weeks due to laptop being mended by a man who seemed to prioritise everyone else except me Anyway its back now so all is well. I tried to find BLF on my phone but came up with this and thought I was just unable to get through to our old forum.
Have to say my immediate impression is not good but I havent thought it through yet. I know many, me too sometimes, fight for breath. And yet . . .
O2Trees. I think this change happened two days ago. Several members have posted their irritation at not being consulted. I believe the Asthma and Lung forum has merged which has annoyed many. Many now think that the lesser known lung illnesses won't v get so much attention. The change may well be to attract more charitable funding. One thing is for sure, people (especially the older generation) do not like change.
Asthma has become quite the talking point the last few years, what with that case of the asthmatic child in London winning some sort of official affirmation, and the big push to end the age of the car. So I see it as a money spinner as far as funding is concerned. I can see the other lung diseases getting sidelined. It's already been the case with a drug showing very good results for COPD having the COPD trial stopped dead, and now being trialled for Covid. Everything takes priority over the " other" lung diseases 😕Asthma and Covid obviously can be killers, but they don't make other conditions any less important, surely.
I’ve nothing against change. Generally I’m all in favour of it, and rather pride myself on keeping up with contemporary culture. But it has to be change (or rebrand!) for the better, don’t you think? In particular, no throwing of babies out with bathwater 😊
Yes new logo, colour etc horrible. As I was born with PCD I’m on that hub, and Health Unlocked put me on here also last year, I think because it’s more “alive” and I appreciate the helpful comments, humour etc. Long may it continue. Know I’ve sometimes been bit downbeat, but I’m still fighting!
