Well back to college tomorrow must admit bit worried with so many cases around .But mum says can't stay locked up and just have to be extra careful . James came home yesterday and mum says they had a very bad night and only couple hours sleep as he was very anxious and couldn't settle hoping tonight will be better for them both as mum looked very tired ,but she says she's fine and she expected it to be hard but confident it will get easier .I fixed up bbc iplayer for him so he can catch up on his programs he missed .lol
College : Well back to college tomorrow... - Lung Conditions C...
College
You’ll be fine in college tomorrow Pokermon. Just stay safe. Great news about James but he might take a little while to settle. I wish you all well. Xxx💜❤️
I remember when I first came back from hospital after they had kept me in overnight after I had blood clots in my lungs and I had been very unsettled as well as going into hospital as an emergency for me was a frightening experience!
Pete found hospital very scary when he had sepsis and cellulitis. He spent nearly five weeks there. I’m glad you only had to stay overnight but that must have been really frightening. Xxx
I dragged myself into a and e on the bus and managed to sit in a seat in the waiting room at a and e and ser the triage nurse in the office unlike the poor people who weren't able to sit in a seat and had to wait on a trolley and I was thankful that I was able to sit in a seat like you did at the doctors not be on a trolley waiting really really poorly.
I had an ecg and blood tests and got given oxygen and a chest X ray and the blood test had come back abnormal for blood clots so the nurse had given me a heparin injection to stop the clots getting bigger before I was wheeled down for a ct scan and after that I was told I had clots in my lungs and they were keeping me in overnight.
The assessment unit nurse had held my hand and reassured me when I said I was frightened whilst waiting to go upstairs to the respiratory ward that they had caught the problem in time and I would be fine on my treatment.
Nowadays I know the signs of a blood clot and I am on the right treatment that I take religiously so I am fine.
I had a review with the doctor on 1 december where I had to wait from 1/6 for a call and they had said about a blood test and the earliest appointment is the 14 January and I took the 9am slot as with 9am once it's done it's over for the day and you aren't sitting around worrying like you are with 4pm appointments.
Pleased you’re doing well now Catgirl. Xxx
Lots of people on anticoagulants. I broke my leg , wasnt allowed home a because of stairs and sent to respite home . After few days woke up with extreme pain in chest and sent to hospital scared stiff thinking it was my heart. After while in assessment a ct scan showed a with clot on lung. heparin i for 6 months being check ed regularly. Then forgot about that 6 weeks in ward at local out patient clinics that had two geriatric wards . Not a hospital but enabled hospital to clear inpatient beds . Doctor came once a week . I got a UTI and asked for antibotic , this was a friday and the Sister in charge told I woul d have to wait unrtil results came back from lab and walked away, ! This would have been following weds I knew this because I had worked in that lab for 2 years and I also knew there was a clinic on the Sat morning at this Out Patients. I threatened to sue them . Told them I was microbiologist. I got the antibioticThis whole time was traumatic. I was 70 and the others were so much older and one died with Alzheimer's in front if me . No curtains round bed and no privacy for family. Terrible place . Staff didn't answer any bell and night staff came on at 6.00 and disappeared at 6.30 after doing the evening rounds with incontinent pads. Discussing their days doings at full volume and what they were going to order for evening meal from local Chinese chippy. They then disappeared into staff room and weren't seen again. It is closed down now but not due to me ,I am sorry
Cat girl having got all that off my chest I will now come to the reason for answering your post.
10 years later I had second PE and didn't realise it, why I was so tired and breathless 97while out shopping. So went to doctors where she managed to get a di-dimer test and was sent immediately to hospital again with multiple clots . No pain , no indication of this , no reasoñ for it except I had scraped my leg when getting out of dentists chair a few days earlier,.the leg broken years before ! So don't believe you would know if it happened again . The second time I was given eliquis and now on it forever. I expect you will be on the same or similar but don't rely on thinking you would recognise another PE.
Sounds like mum has the same opinion as me when She says life is too short to hide away at home forever!
I feel very strongly how life is for living, not hiding away!
Really pleased that James is home with you all, recovery from stroke is a roller coaster ride and some days will be better than others but i think your mum realises that and any help you can give to lighten her load will be much appreciated. You too will have to get used to a new regime and i hope you managed to get transport arrangements sorted and that once you have settled back into college you get the opportunity to jazz up that rollator and become something of star as you whizz around bowling over anyone who gets in the way of your progress.
Good luck Pokermon.

I hope college goes well + u enjoy it xx
Be careful at college. Fingers crossed that everyone else is behaving responsibly. They ought to when they see that rollator whizzing around. Glad that James is home, and that you are able to support your mum with entertaining James ( mp3 player) and anything else. Hope he finds it easier to settle, so your mum can get some rest. Bless you all.
All good wishes to you all.
Enjoy college Pokermon and like your mum says, be extra careful. 👍😀
Glad to hear that James is home, and hopefully he’ll improve day by day. I can understand how you feel about going back to college but I’m sure you’ll take all the necessary precautions and you’ll be fine. Take care and enjoy being back! 😊💪
All the best for today. Hope things go well for you and you don't feel too exposed to Coronavirus among your fellow students. What a lovely thing to do, to set up iplayer for James so that he can catch up on his favourite programmes now he's home. That will help your mum a lot.
Good luck at college today Hope James starts to feel less anxious and settle back to a more normal routine. Take care x
So glad James is home, your mum will need your support now. Hope all goes well at college, just remember to wear your mask and wash your hands x
Good luck at college. Be positive and it will all work out. Jazz the rollator up and send us a picture if you can .
Just seen this, so you'll be at college by now - hope all is going well, and you're finding it less anxiety-creating than you were afraid of? Just take sensible precautions, avoid silly people ( you know what I mean!) and you will almost certainly be fine. Similarly at home, just give it a few days for James, Mum and you to settle down again. xxx
Hope all has gone well today for you, Pokerman. It sounds as though you are doing your bit for James, keeping his TV programs sorted. I'm sure you will all help each other and you will get a good routine going. Take care xxx😊❤️
Masks and handwashing seem to be the way forward! Good luck at college.
I think you were great to set up the iplayer for James. Hope he soon settles and can enjoy a bit of telly. Fingers crossed your mum gets more sleep and is less tired soon.
