Private lung specialist in southwest

My asthma/sinusitis/post nasal drip has become so bad I need more help. My gp referred me back to the hospital but I’m still waiting for an appointment. 3 months overdue. I’m having regular attacks and copious amounts of mucus.

Anyone seen a private consultant in the southwest (I’m Devon). I’m struggling to live a decent life right now.

Thanks.

This is terrible. More people are having to go private to get an appointment or even surgery. A family friend just went private to have surgery otherwise she faced a three year waiting list. Hopefully someone will be able to answer your question and you'll be able to get the help you need. Sending you lots of good wishes 🐑

I’m hoping someone from your area may know something. It sounds as if you’re really suffering. Best wishes to you. Xx

You could try looking up details of the local hospitals particularly university hospitals- is there one in Exeter or over the border in a next door county. There should be lists of consultants for each department the hopefully you can look them up individually to see if they have reviews. You're wise to seek a recommendation here. Im about to look for a private GP. Very best wishes to you

PS the forum is often quieter at weekends so if little response post the same question in a couple of days.

Hi Lynnepin I have seen Dr. Hughes at Nuffield hospital Plymouth. He also works at Derriford hospital plymouth. I have seen him on a number of occasions over the years. Barbs x

Have you seen anybody at the hospital ? If so you could try contacting their secretary and telling them how bad you have become. I do sympathise with you as I suffered this for over 2 years and am just recovering from a sinus op, the relief is massive. I do hole you find a solution x
