Prophylaxis Bronchiectasis

Hello everyone, can anyone advise on how successful Flucloxacillin has been as a prophylaxis against staph? I’ve now on this twice a day. My normal other one is Colomycin for pseudomonas. Thank you 🌺🌸

Hi I can’t say how well it works as on 2 occasions I have been prescribed this medication I have reacted very badly to it. It burns from my mouth to my stomach I have been in agony and had to stop taking it. Barbs x

Sorry to hear that, oh dear! Hopefully you have now found medication that’s helps. I’d imagine it’s all trial and error. X

Update!!

Nope this has not worked and it’s a copious infection now….off again on Thursday to trial 7.0% saline but I’ve no problem in clearance it’s never ending.

Maybe a new abx?
