Hi do you get shortness of breath when exercising if so that could cause it. Have you asked about this to your GP, if not it would be a good idea to. It will help but your mind at rest.. please let us know how you get on . Have a lovely day and take care 😊 Bernadette and Jack 🐕 xxxxxx

It may be straining of the intercostal muscles, they are small muscles located between the ribs. If your shoulders are going up and down you are using those intercostal muscles. You should really only be using belly breathing. You can train yourself how to use belly breathing by breathing in through your nose and then blowing it out through pursed lips, sniff the roses and blow out the candle. Once you have mastered belly breathing then on exercising you can use mouth breathing but remember to only use belly breathing, still exhale by blowing out through pursed lips. Remember if you are still raising and lowering your shoulders as you breathe you are still doing it wrong. Pulmonary rehabilitation classes would be a good idea ask your doctor to refer you to it.

Welcome to BLF community Kheda

Could be a number of things, mention to your doctor about it who may want to have you in for checks.

I find when I try and push myself too hard and if weather conditions are not lung friendly I will get what I can only describe as pain in the lungs.

Take good care of your self, ease up when you get the pain recover then continue if you think its just when you over exert.

Best wishes Bkin

Hi Kheda. I would not attempt any more exercise until you see your doctor and they tell you it is safe for you to exercise. There are too many variables as to why you have chest pain and it's not worth the risk until you know it is nothing to worry about. Best wishes,

Cas 👋😃

Hi Kheda0068 and welcome to the forum.

Chest pain should not be ignored, it is advisable to contact your GP as soon as possible to let them know what is happening and to ensure you are OK to begin exercising.

Take care

Its often due to lack of exercise 🤷‍♀️ unfit musels use more oxagen and are often more likely to hurt on exertion

Best to see your doctor as it could also be related to heart issues.

Definitely see your doctor. I had chest pain on exertion and needed a stent because of a blocked artery. It doesn’t hurt to check.
