Right I came to the site a while ago now , I have multiple health problems which have not been stated fully on here so , apart from stage four COPD I have two tumors on my kidneys a benign tumor on leg four annular tears and three herniated discs in my spine which have compressed I also have a large hernia behind bellybutton , I'm in constant pain and on 0.5mg of a morphine based drug I can't pronounce because it is in Greek 🤣 , up until recently I had been in the darkest place possible which made hell look like a holiday camp ! Then something happened which is personal this event turned my whole life around and even dealing with my stepfather doesn't stress me out as much regardless to the damage it's causing but even that is being sorted out .
This site and people on it have been a rock and gave me a sounding block people may think oh how nice he's a happy bubbly person well it was an act to hide how I really felt so first thing I thank each of you for your help and support along with your understanding , I feel proud and humble to what got me to the point I'm at now and only hope that it continues and don't want to return to the darkest place again . What an uplifting post Davey. I think quite a few people don’t always tell their whole story but I’m so pleased something has turned your life around. That’s really good to hear. We have a wonderful group of people on here who love to offer support, advice, care and compassion, often with a smattering of humour. Life can be very difficult for many but we have each other’s backs.
You are a valued member of this forum who gets through each day as best as you can.
He has been alluding to some personal event that has changed his outlook, I hope it’s something wonderful ( a lady maybe?), that has perhaps made him leave the group? I hope he is ok too, xx
We have some good friends here and help each other through! Some days are good and some are just rubbish. We do sometimes wear a front but we know we struggle with sorts!

Brilliant to hear how you are coming through the dark times davey and this site is so enlightening in many ways .we are very lucky to have each others support when it's needed as most people on here go through their own struggles and health issues. Feeling very thankful 🙏myself❤️

Oh Davey! That was so from the heart. I’m glad that the people on here could help you. I think your day off probably did you more good than you think. Perhaps you could get someone to watch over your Father one day a week to give you a break after all you deserve some time to yourself.
I cannot remember who told him he could lock his b***** post. There should be some explained from her why she told him that. I see she deleted her lock the b***** post. Is she only one now able to talk to him. I understand he's got ALOT of issues but I was learn g a lot from them. People I k ow have same issues. I had the hernia behind the bellybutton thing and surgery removed that. Im wondering if he cannot have surgery because of the other issues. There's so many unanswered questions for me and others I know with his health issues. Now I'll never know😞😞😞🙏🙏🙏

Well I think that was a 'goodbye' post if ever there was one! and the 'locking post' comment which I had read and found it to be written in a convivial and jocular manner was unfortunately misunderstood but was not the reason for Davey leaving. The person who wrote that was just trying to point out in a funny way that it's best to lock posts or they will go viral! He seemed not to have understood that sadly, but I really don't feel this is the reason he left. I hope, however, that things go more smoothly for him in the future and he knows where to come back to if he needs to!
I saw that exchange too & I’m certain the person was just having a bit of tease and would be appalled if Davey had been upset by it. I’m sure he wasn’t & that the real reason is, as he says himself, the personal event which has turned his life around. It sounds very exciting and I’m glad it has lifted Davey’s mood so much because he has so many problems to contend with. He deserves a break if anyone does!
Absolutely! That person would be mortified if they thought they were instrumental in someone leaving so abruptly! The thing to learn from this is that people are not always what you perceive them to be and don't always have the same sense of humour! I still don't think this had any influence on his decision to leave.
Oh I do hope you’re right Annie31 . Reading the original post without the puzzling one underneath I would definitely assume that David is in a really good place at the moment and taking some time out to enjoy life. I really hope that’s the case and not having seen the “locking post” I’m glad you’ve been able to shed some light on it 😊. It would seem David hasn’t seen any of our posts simply because he’s busy having a great time 🤗🤗
David's 'letter' was written before the locking comments so I think it's to be assumed that he's left and if he is no longer a member he can't get on the site to read any replies. It is strange though!
Yes, I think he wrote his good bye letter and hasn’t been on the site since , hence not seen the replies I’m guessing he’s taking a break so he can concentrate on whatever’s good in his life now 😊
I just want to say the "b****** posts" comment was not written with malice. I also seriously doubt that it was taken as such. If it was, misunderstandings sometimes happen even with the best intentions. So, on that score I think being upset with that comment and the poster is not called for and highly counterproductive. I suggest we move on.
Davey is a lovely person and we a enjoy his posts and company here. Having said that , he has the ways and means to return whenever he feels like. And I am sure he may do when he is ready. I for one hope that if he is on a new journey, he will always remember he has this place to return to and all of us will so pleased to hear from him again. 🍀
I am so glad to read that you have been uplifted by a special event. Reading of your life, special coffees, day to day outings into the village or the expats shop has given me fascinating glimpses into life on a Greek island which I have so enjoyed. Your illnesses are profound, but I admire spirit and courage. Sops
Wow I'm confused not been on for few days and seems people are disappearing? Davey keep enjoying the stars at night it sounds bliss. Good look with all future tests and results and hope the support continues for your stepdad and from the pharmacist incase we don't chat again. X🙂
