Another glorious day

β€’25 Replies

Well I have been sat outside the front on the varanda trying to cool down after yet another long hot night . The sun is just sneaking round the corner of the varanda so soon be time to go inside . Waiting for a call from the pulmonologist today she as been talking with a colleague in Athens regarding my medication as it's not working properly so hopefully she will have some news for me 🀞🀞 meds are supposed to cover eight hours but only lasting an hour and a half . Not good. Hope you all have a lovely day 😊😊

Hi , found myself on bedroom floor . Love the heat spoke with a Greek friend who works round the other side of the island he said this year is hotter than normal and a couple of tourists yesterday were admitted to hospital with heatstroke , out in mid-day heat no shirts and no water big mistake . πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I'm hoping pulmonologist as good news can't keep going on like this. 🀞🀞🀞

That’s not good to hear Davey. Keeping everything crossed for you. People are so stupid. Take care xxxπŸ˜€πŸ˜Ž

It's getting me agitated because I'm sick of the seizures and finding myself on some floor , I had one in the bath which I point out I usually have a shower every day but this particular day decided I wanted to soak in the bath , fortunately I didn't put too much water in because I must have blacked out for some time because I was all wrinkly 🀣🀣 glad I didn't put much water in .

That was lucky. Hope you get the help you need xxx

You can get all the help you need but the problem is the price tag attached to it . Everything costs .🀣🀣 It's like waiting to be hung waiting for the call last time it was eight o'clock at night because here they work from 8am till 1.30 go home for a siesta then return at five until ten in the evening 🀣🀣

Forward planning 🀣 it's horrible when you don't trust your own body to behave . The general idea was to top it up once in but didn't get the chance , still managed to look like a prune though 🀣🀣🀣

Believe or not it's also almost the same here! So hot and can't live with it now . Used to love the heat now it has made me feel really ill My house not designed for hot weather with flat roof so gets very hot . Too hot in sun and too noisy in shade at front as emergency vaccination centre opened in church opposite and so much traffic !So noisy , car park full and people driving around trying to find parking space somewhere. Feel sorry for them .

Hope your doctor finds an answer for you today. Fingers crossed for you.

Got off the floor of my bedroom covered in clothes , blacked out again I'm ok just been a bit confused and disoriented which passes must have been trying to put Washing away can't remember so out them away anyway πŸ˜‚ .heat doesn't bother me too much usually but this year it's hotter than normal even the Greeks are complaining πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

That is dangerous. You should be able to get that sorted. I don't know how you health system works but ours is pretty hopeless Receptionists bar access to doctor! Dont ignore it. We have very odd weather north can be warmer than south and I am in northwest and it was 29' here but my sister in north east was only17' . Climate change is certaily showing itself, you said it was hotter than usual it could be the heat was affecting you and lung problems do not help.

I just had my call from the pulmonologist she said I have to double dose with my Meds to see if there's any changes in a week and I have to see the neurologist on Wednesday along with the cardiologist same day , the seizures I've been having for a while because of hypoxia I wasn't getting enough oxygen into my blood apparently then they stopped for a while but then the meds didn't last the time they were originally and just got less and less so she's double dosing me for a week to try that but also getting me help for the seizures which is good , I think she will change my Meds I know she's in on going contact with a specialist in Athens so I wait and see it's only a week and it may work . Must admit though it's scary ,🀣🀣🀣 my 81 yr old stepfather isn't much help and the only support I have is on here πŸ‘. I think because I'm terminal the pulmonologist is just trying to make sure I'm comfortable and she's seen to be trying to help πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I'll take it as it comes. Take it easy

Well it reassuring that you are getting all the help you need. Please keep us informed of how you are going on with other specialists.Did n't know that hypoxia can lead to seizures. I have learned more from people on here than ever learnt from consultant. Better cross more fingers.

β€’ in reply toJaybird19

Well I didn't know anything about hypoxia but when I first started having these seizures I called them blackouts because I always seemed to end up on the floor and didn't know how long let alone anything else , but I happened to have one while at the pulmonologist and I was having my oxygen levels checked when it happened so she said that because my oxygen levels were bottomed out I had what she called an hypoxic seizure I had never heard of it personally . But since then I just have them when they decide to happen and hense seeing the neurologist because as she said she can't always put it down to low oxygen levels perhaps damage as been done so best to get it checked out . And yes you get lots of information off here that doctors specialists never tell you. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Hi, I have Severe Brittle Asthma and other medical conditions. I was so interested to learn from you about hypoxia. I knew nothing of this, and like many others, never heard of it. I have had, what my Neurologist Specialist in Oxford calls "my blackouts/drops" for 12 years. My Specialist says its to do with my brain. I have had alsorts of tests, MRI scans, CT scans, stays on the Neuro Ward for 10 days with wire's all over my head, different meds..all trying to find an answer. None..well nothing 100% .. My Neuro Specialist says that as the brain is very complex, unlike any other part of the body, where you can open up to investigate, see the problem, or do more in depth tests.. unless you cut open the brain to have a good look, sometimes as a Brain Specialist, you still never know every condition. She says as the brain is so complex, she often has no definite answers unlike other fields..and has many patients with a ? over their diagnosis. with me she said, it could be a rare form of Epilepsy..or its a case..similar to a light switch being switched off, in my brain, and I just drop, I have no knowledge, I just blackout. I have broken bones, fallen from top to bottom of stairs, the list is long, so im not allowed out alone anymore..I can't even bake or cook meals alone now.

My Specialist doesn't think it's linked to my chronic asthma, nor my heart failure..she is convinced its a condition with the brain. It is something, I just get on with, very very hard at times, and means if I'm out, I now need to be in a wheelchair. I'm very curious why they have never mentioned Hypoxia..as my oxygen levels did drop when having my episodes at times. I have an oximeter so I'll ask my partner to put it on when having a blackout. I'm normally out for about a minute apparently..Long enough to do damage to myself. I hope you get definite answers from your Neuro Specialist, I would be very interested to know..I hope all goes well and send best wishes..

β€’ in reply toHelen0909

As soon as I know I will make a point of letting you know . It was all new to me and like you said it's like turning off a light switch . Not all doctors know everything . Keep safe and I will let you know the outcomeπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ˜Š

I bought an oximeter and check my oxygen levels and blood pressure regularly. According to the instructions, I should aim to keep my levels above 90. Its usually around 92.It might be worth getting one so you can keep an eye on your levels.

β€’ in reply toAingeful

I'm pretty lucky because you have to buy everything here their is a nurse who lives two doors up from me she pops round twice a week to check me out checks BP sugar levels and oxygen levels aswell so can't grumble plus pulmonologist does all the above aswell.

I hope they can find a solution to your problems and that the weather will cool down- that would be a relief. Wish you could pass us some of the sunshine but not the heat.

β€’ in reply toAlberta56

The sunshine is probably around 11 months of the year heat started around February and may end around October πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ my problems will unfortunately only get worse being stage four I just need to get comfortable with it πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘
