Yes, I have had telephone reviews. I'd suggest you phone your GP surgery to ask about yours.
Yes, I had an appointment with the nurse a couple months ago, for what it was worth. Already on the maximum inhalers and just asked if I was coping okay with the breath activated powder inhalers. A waste of time and effort really (two miles away), it could have been done over the phone
Yes, I had one with my asthma nurse 2 month ago. Regards to my inhaler and medication.
Finally after a year I’m getting a telephone consultation with the COPD nurse this Friday
Telephone interviews are inadequate and often misleading. It has been quoted in interview training that up to 70% of communication is non-verbal. Eye contact is one of the important elements impossible by telephone alone (our GP practice has no video facility). I politely declined a telephone review and I had a good face to face COPD review two weeks ago with comprehensive COVID precautions. Yes, of course, virus transmission has to be taken into account but there can be a clinical balance. COPD reviews are important, as evidenced by their regularity.
Not a review as such but the registrar did phone me unexpectedly one afternoon whilst I was rummaging around in the closing down sale bins in Debenhams! I later found out that that was my clinic appointment with nothing more in the pipeline 🤣
I was told right in the beginning of the pandemic that if I didn’t go for my asthma review they would stop my medication. I just said “No they won’t as the hospital prescribed it.” And! No I didn’t go. I haven’t been since the beginning of the pandemic.
Not a peep. My last one was two years ago.
