Hi there, is there anything in particular causing your anxiety or is it just there?

I have spells when I have quite bad anxiety for no obvious reason and at other times it eases also for no apparent reason. Practicing relaxation techniques can help but I know that they take a lot of practice before feeling the benefit. Breathing exercises such as pursed lip breathing (slowly in through the nose and slowly out through the mouth with the out breath taking twice as long as the in breath) can help ease anxiety too.

Very often worrying about the anxiety makes it much worse and learning to accept it can have a very positive effect on reducing it. That also takes a lot of practice. Some people find that GP prescribed medication helps too so it may be worth contacting your doctor if you are struggling so much.

Thank you for your reply....I've always suffered from anxiety and panic attacks since I was 17.. sometimes it just seems to completely take over...the doctor did give me trazodone but I dont find they help much.Take care. Dawn x x

Sorry that you have suffered for so long. If the medication isn't helping I'd suggest that you have another chat with your doctor. There are many other medications that may help you. There is counselling too but counsellors visa the NHS are few and far between.

If you are able too, getting out walking can help a lot. Many years ago I had severe anxiety and panic attacks. I used to go out walking and just concentrated on putting one foot in front of the other and gradually the panic and anxiety subsided and I began to feel much better. I do hope that you find something that helps you.

If you have strategies in place that don’t help, perhaps chatting to your Gp, it’s good you reached out to the BLF albeit unsuccessful….your pro active which I hope you try calling again.

wishing you well x

So sorry you are feeling so awful with your anxiety. Lots of people on here to chat to, I have found it helps a lot. If I were you I would have another chat with your GP about how your anxiety is impacting on your life. Best wishes and virtual hugs 🤗🤗🤗🤗. Take care.

Sending you virtual hugs ((((( )))))) and hoping you soon feel less anxious.

I find my mood improves if I can get outdoors in the sunshine (providing there is some! Lol!) and a short walk around the neighbourhood helps me too.

Otherwise - it's CHOCOLATE! Not good for the waistline but VERY useful as a mood enhancer. 🤣 Just don't eat too much!

I do hope you feel better soon. xx Moy
