Hi Handihaler, Father Ted was a brilliant sitcom, with an excellent cast lead by the much missed and taken too soon Dermot Morgan, it was very near the Knuckle at times, but utterly brilliant.

I don’t know what it is about the Irish, but they manage to mock their religion brilliantly, Dave Allen was another master of this and he was someone else taken far too soon.

Hahah! When my daughter was small, she always wanted '2 sandwiches' regardless of how big or how small the portion on her plate was. I soon cottoned on to this so used to put one sandwich on her plate and then when she asked for two, I'd remove the plate, turn away from her and cut the sandwich then give it back to her. Voila! 2 sandwiches and a happy child!

I love this from Father Ted! I can almost feel some logic there, somehow as sometimes, when things are portioned differently you can find yourself eating more or less than you usually would. The mind can trick the stomach into feeling full or empty according to the messages that come from the eyes xx Moy

You're right, MoyB. That's why I have a smaller dinner plate than my husband's. The meal still looks the same on the two plates, but mine has fewer calories as I don't need so much.
