Hi I am now living in France from U.K. I have been on sera tide 500 x 2 puffs a day for years. For my asthma. I also have mild bronchiectasis. My lung capacity has gradually reduced over recent years. Peak flow used to be 250 but recently below 180. My doctor in France said seratide was old fashioned and put me on Trimbow 87/5/9. Well my peak flow quickly increased to 250 and sometimes just over or under. I am very happy with this but wondered what others experience has been as I have not heard of it before. Thanks in advance

So glad the new med suits and you have noticed a great improvement. I am not on Trimbow, but I had thought it has been around for a few years.

Details here: ema.europa.eu/en/medicines/...

Trimbow is a combination of 3 meds*, I do take the first two of these separately as part of my inhaler meds daily routine. of ;

*

Beclometasone dipropionate

formoterol fumarate dihydrate

glycopyrronium bromide

--

Beclometasone dipropionate and formoterol fumarate dihydrate I have found helpful for around 17 years. I do not take these in any combination med as I personally find the formeterol causes me excessive cramps if I take more than one dose daily, usually in the combos it has either been twice daily or double dose in a once daily inhaler. So in my case its better for me to take them separately so I can control better the dose and side affects.

Beclometasone being the preventer med, formeterol being a long acting 12 hour broncodilater. (I do take other meds to make up for the needed extra broncodilation.)

...

Its good to hear you are finding the combo in Trimbow beneficial.

Best wishes

I have no experience for this drug but i hear alot of good things, it usually work very well for copd. This is one of the most modern and advanced drugs on the market right now. I know alot of peoples are on it and it is good for slowing down the progression of copd.

Trimbow has been around for a few years though Is comparatively new. I’ve heard lots of good things about it. I’m currently on Seretide which I don’t feel works particularly well for me and have been hoping for some time to be offered the opportunity to try Trimbow (still hoping!) I hope Trimbow will work well for you 🤞

I’ve also found a benefit since being put on Trimbow. Peak flow was usually around 220 but since being changed to Trimbow I now average 280. Long may the benefit continue for us both, certainly makes the hills easier to climb😀

The other side of the coin. Some weeks ago, I was offered the opportunity to try Trimbow but unfortunately, it didn't work for me. During the course of one week I woke up very early for two mornings running wheezing heavily which frightened me. Also had to use my blue inhaler a great deal during that week. Decided to go back to my Symbicort and Spiriva, both of which work well for me.

Hi Duncaan. Really pleased you have shown some improvement with Trimbow. I have been on it three years now and it has markedly reduced the number of exacerbations that I get. Good luck. John

I think you find that trimbow has less steroid than seretide. I swapped from seretide to trimbow last year and now it’s all settled down
