I answered myself recently and I can't figure out how to bring that post into context. . . And of course, now pictures won't upload either. So damn!

My response to my self was written to thank you for all your kindnesses towards my lady Shelly. That post was a bit more eloquent than this scrabbled bit. I do so appreciate your understanding and compassion. Shelly was originally my brother's dog until he became so ill. It turns out that he left behind another wee beastie as well as three cats. The cats all found good homes, but the chihuahua has just been surrendered to me and having always had larger dogs, my four cats and I are undergoing some significant adjustments. It turns out that he has left me his house as well as a deeply entrenched squatter, but that's a whole 'nother story!

Meanwhile, Shelly is scheduled for surgery Wednesday next, so fingers crossed!

They look a lovely pair!Maia comes as an unknown to me. I know next to nothing about the breed and about her in particular. She’s is spayed but I have no idea how old she actually is or her veterinary history. My vet says her teeth are an issue, I gather that’s common? I have had to name her, but she responds well to it.

As you can see, she’s settling in. The cats are figuring out that she’s not much of a threat...she’s a 6# lightweight.
