Hi Maricopa, Pete has COPD (chronic bronchitis) and if he has a flare up his cough is very bad. That usually lasts 3-4 weeks and takes two lots of antibiotics sometimes. I hope you feel better soon but do speak to your GP if you feel no better this week. Xxxx

Hi, I have emphysema not bronchitis but I well remember an infection that went to my chest some 3 years ago which took about 3 months before everything settled down again. Trying to get rid of the phlegm was exhausting. As well as my prescriptions for antibiotics and prednisolone, my pharmacist recommended an expectorant that was safe to take along with my GP prescribed meds. That really helped a lot. It may be worth asking your pharmacist for advice but do let your doctor know too if things don't start to improve. Reading your recent posts I think that you have been quite ill this time but I hope that you pick up a lot sooner than I did. Best wishes.

No wonder you had a stubborn fever Maricopa! Did they do a sputum test to show which antibiotic would murder those particular bacteria you're growing in your lungs?

Good luck, hope you getwell soon 😘

I have a recurring cough that last months and dont think it ever really goes. This developed one year after a really bad cold that infected my sinus's . I now take antihistamine when the mucus gets bad. No amount of antibiotics or steroids gets rid of this and is a real nuisance. I think we learn to cope with this. I do sympathise and hope it gets better soon, if not mither your gp x
