Just a quick one.

The vertigo is back with a vengeance, instigating vomiting. I cannot keep anything down, not even water so no meds either. I will be offline for a while, back soon I hope.

Sorry to hear your vertigo is back. During a vertigo attack, lying still in a quiet, darkened room may help to ease any symptoms of nausea and reduce the sensation of spinning. Have plenty of sleep. Wish you recover soon.🙏🏾

Hello winabago, thx for your comment. This advice came from my GP when I had vertigo (mine was mild, I rested and recovered within 2 days)

So sorry to hear that 2 greys, I have suffered vertigo myself and I know how horrible it is. My consultant did the Epley Manoeuvre with me, didn't work first time but fortunately it did the 2nd time. I do understand that it doesn't work for everyone though Take care and hope you are feeling a lot better soon. xx

Must be horrendous with the vomiting too. I found it important to move very slowly, not to turn my head quickly, especially looking down, and to keep my head and body upright as far as possible. My understanding, which Im sure you know too, is that the brain is perceiving that you are not upright, and it keeps working to correct this mistaken perception. Crossing fingers this will pass soonest 2G.

Hope it passes soon, vertigo isn't fun. I get night-time vertigo, so when I'm lying down and turnover in bed it starts, usually due to antibiotics and dehydration. Gentle hugs. x

BPPV vertigo is awful but I found the Epley Manoeuvre cured it quickly.Demonstrations of the head positions are on You Tube.

There are two American physiotherapists called Brad and Bob who show how simple it is to move the crystals out of the ear canals, which are the cause of the problem.

I feel sorry for you as I remember the spinning feeling, walking as if I was drunk and the awful throwing up. The consultant at the hospital had success with the manoeuvre within minutes but at home it sometimes takes me a few tries, although I only experience it very occasionally nowadays.

As a fellow vertigo sufferer I can recommend Buccastem to help stop the vomiting. You don't have to keep it down as you put it between your gum and your upper lip and let it dissolve. It's most successful if you take it as soon as you feel the attack starting. It is only for short term use, just when you have an attack, not something you take regularly. I don't know how it would sit with other medication you may be taking but it would be worth discussing with your GP to see if you could be prescribed it just to get you through this patch.

I hope you are feeling better by now. I only saw your post today (Thursday) so am probably way too late with my advice but maybe you could get some prescribed to keep by you in case it happens again. xx Moy
