Have to move house to escape smoker newly moved in. I have mild COPD, recently made worse by the smoker. Have resigned myself to moving. Choice of two new places, one urban, one suburban. Former = closely packed houses, narrow streets. Latter = wider-spaced semis, leafy and wider streets. Both within two miles of coast and wind from that direction. Both within 300 yards of busy A-road. My main reason for moving is to escape smoker. No smoking issues at either new place. Is the urban/suburban question even relevant. If so, which? Thanks. New to this site, but looks great.

Urban or suburban, does it matter for mild COPD?
Hi and welcome. I would choose the latter as I think it would be better. Nice for you to have the choice.
Welcome Seabank. I’d go for the wider streets etc. Good luck with the move. Take care xxxxx
Purely because im a country girl i would go for the suburban so the more space the better for me. Nothing to do with illness. Though the less pollution in any area is a good thing. Good luck on the move
I always do pros and cons when making a choice! I find it helps to write it down. To be honest I think you would have to live in a bubble (excuse the pun given the current situation!) to avoid all possible threats to your health but good luck with your choice and move.
Best of luck with your move.Personally I would prefer the latter choice.
I would go for the leafier place, but bear in mind that pollution moves around. Can you suss out both these places before deciding.
Good luck with the move, hope all goes well whichever you decide to do, good that you have a choice and can get out of your current situation.
Hi
I don't know the full circumstances but I am assuming the smoker is in your home. Simple - tell him/her to stop smoking or tell them to find another place. Why should you give up your home because of someone elses habits.
