Will the current inhaled cortisteroids therapy alter the CT scan results?

Hello. Tomorrow i have a CT scan for COPD/Asthma suspect. I currently take symbicort to help my symptoms. Dou you think the asthma/copd therapy i take will influence the CT result making it like a false negative?

the short answer is no any inhaled medicines will not influence the CT scan result. But do ask the radiographer when you go for your scan to set your mind at rest.

No if your lungs are damaged the damage will show up on the scan. Your inhalers will open your airways to help your lungs work properly. So you cant get a false result from a ct scan. Try not to worry it is one of the best ways to find out what is going on 😷

Hiya, I had two CT scans within a fortnight of each other and before both I was oral steroids, nebulisers and O2. This didn’t alter any results
