Advice needed.

Hello could anyone help with advice please. I have been really poorly in and out of hospital. I have not been able to do very much, a friend has been very kind and had helped me a lot, I would not have manage without her. I live in a area where it states not to mix with people outside of your own home. My friend is very worried if we will be breaking the rules if she continues to come to my home. I don't think I'm at risk from her as she is very careful with everything. At the same time I don't want to be going against the rules. Advice much appreciated thanking you. Holly

Hello no I don't live alone but my husband hasn't been well so just tried not to give him everything to do. It's difficult trying to do the right thing. You take care too. 😘xxx

Hi Holly, sorry to hear you have been so poorly, I am sure I have read that, if someone is providing care then it is ok for them to visit your home. xxx

I think if you live alone you can have 1 person in your home for care. Unfortunately the rules are changing often and are different for different areas maybe BLF can give clear advice

Hi Holly, best check guidance in your local area. Although not being able to mix with people outside your own home, if you live alone and are in need of daily assistance you hopefully should be In the exemption category of those rules.

Hi Holly, I’m sure something can be worked out for you. Not an easy time if both unwell. The guidance changes so fast these days and if your feeling unwell so hard to keep in mind what is relevant Good to hear your feeling improvement and I hope your getting plenty of rest Xx

If you are unsure, contact your local council Adult Care, I am sure they will advise you further and even offer you or point you in the direction for the help you need.

It really depends your friends life situation, is she working, is she having contact with lots of other people, is she acting as your carer, if so she probably should be wearing full PPE. Your friend could phone the local council as well just so she appreciates the situation and requirements.

Thank you for your reply I looked on local web site it only mentioned if you live alone your allowed one support bubble. I'm feeling a lot better than I was thanks so if it means my friend has to stop coming well just have to manage. Xx

Well that's good then if you live alone your friend won't need to stop coming, if that is what your local council website indicates. Glad you are feeling better.

Hi Holly. I live in an area with restrictions (North East England) and we are still allowed a support bubble. As someone else mentions, take a look on your Local Authority website.

Hello thank you for your reply I also live in North East England. Looked on the Local Authority website it only mentioned it i live alone I'm allowed one person to come to my home.

Hi Holly. I have just seen an update on the local lunchtime news where they have been clarifying people’s queries.

You can meet up with a friend to go for a walk. You can also meet up with a friend in a beer garden - although this is advised against you can’t get fined for it.

Looks like you will have to wrap up warm and walk around the block!

I would crack on with your visits Holly,my understanding of the rules are that single households,even under the tighter lockdown restictions are allowed to form a support bubble(though only the one) and if you take the standard care procedures complete with handwashing and safe distancing i do not believe you or your friend will come to any harm .

p.s sorry didn't realise you don't live alone so my advice may not be correct,but please check it may still be possible if that person is deemed to be giving you support?
