Best place to live for lung condition
Hi 👋 I’m miles down south so I don’t no but just wanted 2 sey welcome and grate pic 😊
Welcome, it's very cold on the coast in Lincolnshire and the wind is strong for a good part of the year, which does affect me and my friends with breathing problems, asthma and copd. I guess we all adapt best we can. Jane
Welcome to this forum. Can’t help about the move to Lincolnshire. I am sorry that you are still suffering from the effects of Covid-19. I do hope that wherever you are you can access as much help as you can with it from the medical practitioners.
All the best
Kate xx
I live in a small town called Malvern in Worcestershire and has been associated with good air quality. Whilst Lincoln is very nice and rural there are many other small country towns and villages. However in my opinion good access to local health services, especially hospitals is essential for our wellbeing. Another important point is to understand what makes your breathing more SOB whether it’s pollen, dust or the weather. In my case with only 20% lung function all three make my SOB worse.
Good luck with your future abode but being close to family is an important factor.
Hi and welcome. Good luck with your choice of new home location. x
Hi, I think another factor to consider is the quality of respiratory health care/ general health care Need to be taken into Consideration .
I know it sounds boring, but it’s an important consideration.
I’m under Wythenshawe hospital for my lung condition and other diagnoses.they are excellent.
We thought of buying a cottage inWales, but have decided to stay where we are.
Look after yourself.
I lived in Lincolnshire for 40 years, only developing bronchiectasis after we had been there 30 years, nothing to do with the current air quality, although the now thankfully banned straw burning might have contributed to it but not a problem now. Lincoln County Hospital looked after me pretty well as a reasonably good District General Hospital but for anything troubling I had to go to Leicester, 50 miles away. Others went to Sheffield or Nottingham. As a place to live, Lincoln is a great city and the wolds are lovely. Housing is relatively inexpensive. The east coast is to my mind nothing special and the fens though interesting are very very flat! Not all the county is flat though. I hope this helps. Good luck xx

I lived in Torquay until I I lost my husband then I came back up to Yorkshire to live near one of my daughters. Mentally a good move but health wise not so good for my bronchiectasis. The atmosphere is rather damp which of course is why the woollen mills did so well. My other daughters live in Derbyshire and Herts. So in theory could move near one of them since collectively they are saying I need to live near one of them. The trouble is I’m settled here now and have made many friends so for the present I’ll just keep coughing and hope for the best.
Hi Melaniefay and welcome to the site. Sorry to hear you have suffered with covid, wish you all the best with your move x
