thinking of moving anywhere near devon or cornwall which is the best need it to be fairly flat as l cant walk far but also has to have good bus train links not bothered whether its a mobile home or bungalow to live in

I'm in Dorset too...lovely!Depends what u like...I'd possibly say Devon has more facilities. ..i imagine Cornwall could be a bit isolated if u don't drive.

I would imagine Cornwall to be a bit hilly, don't know why, but Devon is a lovely county, I hope you find what you're looking for, its a pity Kirsty and Phil don't do Location etc. anymore lol

I live on the Devon/Cornwall border and madonbrew is right, public transport isn't the best here. But, it's a wonderful place to live and I wouldn't change it.

There are holiday parks where you can live all year, might be worth looking into. Hope you find something suitable. x

I live in Devon your best bet here is Torquay mostly flat on around harbour and good transport links, most of Devon is hilly , I moved here on being diagnosed fir me life saver! I live in a village now near Totnes but drive which in these places is really essential Newton Abbot another on level place too but be aware most of Cornwall and especially Devon is built on or around the rolling hills! There are always flat places though ...I moved here from Manchester a decade back its the best thing I did ever! I have lived in the villages and the Bay I walk my dogs daily on our stunning beaches its for me made a difference between living and dying I can't thank Devon enough its my heaven ..I would recommend everyone get here with sick lungs if they are able Paignton , Brixham, all have flat centres.. Apart from zero pollution and beauty here a lung patient will instantly feel the differences.. Most transport links are good but if you can drive it would be advantage ...

Hi Paignton does but I wouldn't say Brixham is flat anywhere and certainly not the town centre. Torquay is very hilly but there are flat parts.

Newton Abbot is mainly flat and so is Exeter and the town centres certainly are. They both have good train and bus links too.

You don't live in Blackawton do you Flo?

Exmouth , Exeter and Barnstaple all have good bus and train services, Exmouth has a lovely beach right on the doorstep and is reasonably flat

Cornwall is definitely more hilly but Newquay has lovely beaches with good bus and train links too

We are thinking of moving to dawlish warren, very quite, good bus links to torquay and Exeter close to m5

Dawlish Warren is lovely but I wouldn't say there are good bus links to Torquay. Exeter I don't know.

We have always found them excellent. We go down 2/3 times a year. I just park the car up and we go everywhere on the bus or at worst the train.

If this is the same bus that goes to Torquay from Dawlish they only go once an hour now and it gets very full. .

We had the same problem nearly 7 years ago, we love Cornwall so started our search there, decided it was lovely to visit but most inaccessible, so next investigated Devon, some lovely towns but again it does have some inaccessible places, we also didn't like the fact that one you get past Exeter if you want to go anywhere else you had to come back to there to pick up other roads. So where did we end up, Somerset but on the Dorset border about 10 miles inland from Bridport. It means we do not get disturbed by the holiday traffic, most places are accessible, health care at our local hospital has been good. Before settling here we had also looked at Wells and really liked that but was talking to someone recently who said her mother lived there and needed a respiratory admission to hospital and they took her to Taunton, that is some trip if you are reliant on public transport.

Plymouth sounds more suitable. Flat for the most part and good facilities. Cornwall is hilly in most parts

Cornwall hilly but beautiful...torquay is best area the southern Riviera I'm just next door in Hampshire xxx

I doubt if either place is particularly flat. If you want somewhere flat, East Anglia would be a better bet.
