Hi everyone just a question I was told by my hospital Dr that flying is not a good idea and if I ever had to it would involve a lot planning that would involve hospital testing and things. Just wo dered if this is something others had found. Hate flying anyway and not planning to go anywhere but intrigued.

Hi Pokermon, can't answer that question myself but hopefully someone can help on here. I hope you get an answer soon. x
Not sure if flying is a good idea or not but you might have probs getting travel insurance if your doc has advised against it.
The last flight I had was from Venice to Gatwick it was not pleasant tho I had just got out of hosp and doc said I should really have oxygen on the flight.
I have now decided to give up overseas travel and stay at home, I’ve been lucky enough to go to most of the places I wanted too, including a trip to St Petersburg in Russia last year.

Sounds like he’s saying you’d need a formal fitness to fly assessment. It looks at things like whether or not you’d need supplemental oxygen to safely fly, or if it is even safe for you to fly full stop. It’s quite common for respiratory diseases and illnesses, particularly in those with a relatively low lung function. Some travel insurers will also request a fit to fly certificate - and some airlines - when organising a trip if you declare certain medical conditions. Pregnant women usually need one to fly after 28 weeks..
Hi Hun, I am not allowed to Fly, Too low Lung Capacity (17%,) so I would be at Risk of Lung Deflation,(late in the day to remember the proper word). also Any Insurance Company wouldn't allow me to be covered. Last Year I was hoping to go and see my Family in Spain, after many Years of Flying, this news came to me as a real Bummer, So Last Year all my Family came to me here. Since the Pandemic, of course They can't come to see me. I will miss my Granddaughters Wedding in October, but I will see her Live on Wassap & Family will Video it all. No Road Travel, impossible for me , on Oxygen 24/7 .
My Baby Ebony, thinks I live in the Phone, she kisses the Screen, melts my Heart she is 18 months old. . So Dear Pokermon. if you are planning a Journey you can travel by Road, maybe this will be for you? Stay Well & Safe Young Lady. Stay Happy. Much Love, C. XXX
Thanks if I go anywhere when safe and quiet will head to centre parks love it there as they allow wheelchairs around the pool. Enjoy your what's apping.
Even if you can't fly in the future, there are always boats and trains. Enjoy Centreparcs when you finally make it there.
Maybe doctor meant you’d need a fitness to fly test. Mine is carried out at a hospital, a little like a lung function test. If you fail you’ll need oxygen to fly and that takes quite a bit of organising. Also, insurance expensive. Joy x
