Asthma and copd
I had spirivia felt it do nothing for me so went back on one I had before.
I would suggest speaking with your doctor about the palpitations and your thoughts it could be one of your inhalers.
I didn't stay on relvar long found it didn't work for me. I still take spiriva respimat.
I am ok on it, I do have mild flutters occasionally but not related to times of taking spiriva.
This is just supposition, but I know from the ex that spiriva is a long acting bronchodilator, and relvar also contains a long acting bronchodilator albeit of a different type, so if you’ve been taking one for a while by itself with no issues, it may be the two in combination are triggering your sympathetic nervous system. I do also know from when the child was using it that relvar can definitely cause palpitations and/or tachycardia by itself, though, as the result of containing a beta-antagonist bronchodilator, which is the same family as salbutamol, which is very well known for palpitations and tachycardia.
Hi nottowell
I have been taking Relvar and Incruse 24 hr. inhalers x 1dose of each daily. I was told by the rehab nurse to inhale the Incruse BEFORE the Relvar as the latter is the steroid one. I was also told to taken them at least 20 minutes apart whilst remaining seated and waiting at least 10 minutes after the Relvar BEFORE doing chores or anything. This has worked well for me for the past 3 years at least.
I used to take them one after the other and found that I too suffered palpitations along with tremor/shakiness/anxiety. Okay so it is a little time consuming but do try it it works for me. I also take Salbutamol - again sitting down for a short while - and taking this ONLY when needed (usually need only 1 puff about 3p.m. in the afternoon) and not the usual 4 times a day as prescribed. I am also prescribed 1 x 5mg.nebule taken at least one hour before bed which is on the doc's orders and again works for me.
All seem to have kept me on an even keel. If a chest infection or a cold happens then use the Salbutamol at prescribed if needed along with any antibiotics/steroids prescribed.
Try it for at least a week and see how you feel

Thank you i will try but my nurse told me to take the relvar first as this opens the air ways so not to sure. I get very bad muscle cramps in my hand snd have been told this may be down to the relvar, i wush i didn't have to take any of them
You must do as you are advised regarding the Relvar. I get lots of leg cramps maybe that's my problem .......the Relvar.
Unfortunately all these nurses and clinics .. even consultants all give conflicting advice and change your medication at different times even the GP tries his hand at it. (I have only ever seen one consultant just the once when I first got COPD (many years ago now) and have had no follow-up from hospital since except once yearly COPD Checks at the surgery done by the practice nurse).
Oh for a yearly vaccine wouldn't that be wonderful.
lol

Thank you i to get very little response from doctor just throws a different perscription at you i just wonder do i really need two preventers plus ventolin
I have asthma and take Relvar Ellipta and spiriva respimat. I’ve had a tendency to have palpitations for years but haven’t noticed a change in frequency with the introduction of either of the above inhalers. If have a flare up and am using a lot of ventolin then that can cause me to have more palpitations. I take the Relvar in the morning and the respimat before bed.
