Another question. So, as they have legal protection to wander at will, I would imagine the gardeners in the village collect all the manure they may leave behind? I know I would be there with my bucket and spade.

Seeing those horses regularly like this would encourage me to go shopping every day.

Yes manure is used for the gardens and it can be lifted of the forest as well as the roads and your very welcome 💜

There was a lovely series about the forest last year, I think it was called A Year in the Wild, did you see it? I must confess to not being much of a fan, too much flat heathland, but I know there are lovely parts too. It was very interesting to see all the seasons, through the eyes of some quirky characters, all passionate about the forest. Do you enjoy living there? Were you brought up there?

Hi Hanne yes I saw it and know most of the people that were in it some from a distance only and others fairly well.

I was actually born in Scotland and moved south in 1985 ish and quickly settled with the warmer weather and just in general the area ...

I still have family up north and here both ...

My husband is from this area born and bred tree surgeon now retired .

His family ran a sawmill right in the thick of the forest for many years which has been gone maybe 10 years now ..I spent most of the summers at the mill with the kids when they were young living in the on site caravan 💜
