Diagnosed with IPF in February after Xmas pneumonia due to flooding.
After my 4 times daily exercise ( squats, push ups etc) my oximeter readings are around 90-94.
Strangely though after doing something less energetic like a bit of pruning or even just walking down the garden or eating i feel quite breathless and have readings of 78-85.
I know it’s been quite hot recently but our garden is quite shady and i usually avoid direct sunlight ( former ginger bap now grey😜😜).
Any advice would be very much appreciated thank you.
Btw i am 58 and not overweight and usually in good health.
Thanks again.

I find humidity dosent help with my breathing even if sat in the shade and damp weather affect my readings. But my readings touchwood are not bad considering. Have copd Take care.
I think you should be discussing your blood oxygen saturation with your doctor/s and perhaps request to be sent for proper assessment regarding blood oxygen levels.
Meantime, keep recording your levels, time of day, what you were doing before after,
taking levels when resting and after activity.
Communicate to your doctor any other symptoms, shortness of breathe, dizziness, sudden need to urinate, anything else.
I found that one day with thunder threatened I was really finding difficult breathing normally ( my normal that is ) but I don't have readings .
Good idea to have another lung function test and the 6 minute walk. I find I can exercise much better indoors than out, and as the 6 min walk is inside I did quite well on it.
I was puzzled by this but a physiotherapist pointed out that, indoors the surface is level & even, and the temperature is constant & still. Outside, we’re contending with unlevel, uneven ground, temperature changes & wind.
I don’t know if this is relevant to you too. Also, bear in mind that outdoors you have pollen and air quality issues, and humidity, and even if you stayed in the shade in the recent hot spell these would still affect you.
