Hi everyone concerned about how the gov club people. I will be 18 in December so classed as a child at moment and so they seem to think not so much at risk. But in few months conidered adult and more at risk very worrying as my lungs still don't work at whatever age I am.
Child or adult. : Hi everyone concerned... - Lung Conditions C...
Child or adult.
Hi that's so true but people only see us as either children or adults. You have a good day and take care of yourself 😊 Bernadette xx xx 🌈
Are you worried about going back to school / college or work?
I would check with your GP for a sick note if you feel your risk is high and you still need to isolate.
Take care.
Not even thinking about it as won't be till Sept life seems to be against me was only allowed couple of hours a day last two years of school now college stopped fingers crossed for next year.
oh so your concern is only about how the gov club people regarding age for child and adult? There is not much you can do about that, it applies to everyone across the board, but being specific you could (as a child) ask your parents or guardian or wait until adult to write to your MP.
I know with your diagnosis you’ll be considered vulnerable, but as I’ve mentioned elsewhere, Oxford Uni is doing research to enable future shielding advice to be targeted at the individual. So, as well as your OB, their “model” - to be provided to GPs so they can discuss with patients - will take into account your age, gender, ethnicity, blah blah & provide a risk assessment based on the whole picture. You’ll then be able to decide for yourself how far you want to return to a normal life. I’m sure your parents are desperate to keep you as safe as possible (I would be in their shoes!) but at the end of the day this has to be balanced with your need for a more normal teenage life, the effect of shielding on your mental health. It’s a very difficult situation for you.
Wise words from Hanne, which I can only echo. Very hard for you sweetheart as a young teenager trying to balance safety with the normality of teenage life. I am so glad you have such caring supportive parents.

I am very lucky my mum is really my nanna and has brought me up since I was a baby as my mum died when I was only few months old so I concider my self lucky to have a caring mum.
What a wonderful Nanna you have, and what a difficult life you've lived already. Hoping things start to improve for you really soon.
The local college here has reopened in part, with some practical courses such as bricklaying continuing socially distanced classes on site, while other classes are still being held virtually. Hopefully your education will be starting again very soon in a way that is safe for you.
I’m so sorry Pokermon. I really had no idea and I hope my words didn’t cause you upset. I made an assumption, which is never the right thing to do. You’re Nanna sounds to be a very very special lady and precious Mum to you. I am sure your Nanna would consider herself very lucky too to have such a caring young woman as you in her life.
Stay safe lovely,

Hi Pokermon. This is a particularly difficult time for you and I hope the next few weeks will bring some clarity for your education and your future.
Thanks for telling us about your Nanna. You must be such a joy for her.
Take care
