Strange sensation inside of the chest/lungs

Hi

I know it's a strange question, but I get a strange sensation in the centre of my chest I suppose it's in my lungs really, but I can only describe it as a sort of tingling, it's not painful but just an odd sensation, I don't like having it and it kind of worries me. Does anyone else get this who has bronchiectasis, I'm hoping I'm not on my own and going slightly mad with everything else happening 😲

Do you mean like a crackling when you breath inward?

This can be associated with infection or wheeze.

It could pass in a few days.

If it doesn't and you start with other symptoms, like feeling worse, more tired, coughing more, breathing more difficulty than usual, sputum colour change (is a good indication its an infection) Make a telephone appointment with your GP to discuss and advise based on symptoms if you need to start anti biotics etc.

Hope it will pass and turns out all ok.

Sometimes our lungs react to weather changes, humidity, windy, extreme temperatures and they can settle down again when weather becomes calmer.

Its very windy today and a lot cooler than we have been experiencing likely could be the reason.

I have both emphysema and bronchiectasis, my lungs have always been sensitive from early days of emphysema, before the added diagnosis of bronchiectasis.

Keep inside out of the cooler wind not forgotting with high pollen that is getting blown around, so not a good combination.

Perhaps take an antihistamine that may help. Also if you are prescribed it carbocisteiene, I having to use both at the moment to help with symptoms.

Their is no crackling when I breath in, although I do sometimes get the crackling at night when I am laying in bed but that doesn't really bother me, it's just sometimes in the day I get the sensation, had it over the last couple of days on and off, I felt a bit nauseous yesterday when I got up, and not 100% today but a bit better, you could be right about the start of an infection I have some Clarithromycin at the ready should I need it, it's the only antibiotic I have taken, as I have only recently been diagnosed, so not even sure it's the right one, but it seemed to do ok before, although I had to take 2 x 7 day with courses (with a couple of days gap) so I am not to sure, I am waiting on a appointment to see a specialist as I asked the GP to refer me, but god knows how long that will take in this climate, I'm guessing sometime.

I get the same feeling you are describing, it scares me when it happens. I had to go to the dr. Last Monday, I had a sinus infection again. I am what is considered stage 4 COPD. I get infections a lot. The Doctor told me he did not like the sound in my left lower lung, it was there, but it wasn’t really bad, I begged to be given a antibiotic, prednisone for breathing, and if I am not feeling better by tomorrow lung XRays Will have to be taken.

I started the antibiotic a week ago tomorrow, starting feeling better, and started over doing it, I think that has what has got me feeling bad again. I am on oxygen 24/7 on 2%, I have been on it close to three years now.

It is strange, I don’t have the coughing, a lot of phlegm in the morning. When I have an infection it is hard to breath, I get scared, instead of purse lip breathing, I start gasping for air. I have to use my inhaler, and sit and calm myself down.

I get very depressed, I can’t do all the stuff I use to do. I go to my primary Dr. by myself, maybe to the grocery store, for a few things, these trips are starting to get fewer and farther a part. I usually have my husband going with me. I hope you all are blessed with better health, well all of us! I am new on this site, apologizes for coming off so depressed.
