Last night my cat was hit by a car and died, I'm devastated.

I cried for 3 days nonstop when this happened to us. It’s painful, we know, but you will get through it. We kept seeing shadows of ‘pudding’ out of the corner of our eye for ages. It was strangely comforting. Be kind to yourself, a very sad time

So very sad to hear this walkingtalking. Heartbreaking when we lose a beloved pet. What was your little cat’s name? It will come in waves as it does with any loss. Cat’s are such a free spirit - I worry when mine ventures out the front, but remember your cat was so loved and well looked after by you.

If you feel things are getting unbearable pm me there are organisations that offer pet bereavement services. When one of mine got run over I went into clinical depression I’d hand fed him from when he was born, I was working in the community and put him in the car with me as he needed feeding every two hours.

I feel so sad for you. I truly believe losing a pet is no less than losing a person you love. If you love, you love the emotion is the same. I lost my beloved cat this way, I shook uncontrollably for 3 days with the shock and Ended up very depressed a few months later. Please please look after yourself x

I've only just picked up your post. I am so so, sorry. You must be devastated! Words will no way convey my sadness on your behalf. I can only say I understand how you are feeling as it has happened to me too. When we take an animal into our home it becomes part of the family. Your loss will feel just as if you have lost a precious member. Yes, life will go on but during this sad time remember this........."we grieve because we have loved".
