I wonder if anyone out there can help me,I have a bad problem going off to sleep ,as i am just nodding off i come round with a mental jolt that is most unpleasent .This stays with me for ages ,and in the end i resort to a sleeping pill. Obviously not a good choice On some occassions i just go to sleep normally, but it is getting worse.I have been sent to the local sleep clinic and they did not find anything .I have COPD and heart problems. I hope someone might have a clue

Sleep problems
This problem has plagued me nearly all my life. I blame drugs, some cause sleep problems & I’ve been on that type since childhood. Mentally I just cannot switch off. I’ll be just dropping off & wham! I’m wide awake again. Anxiety about sleep makes it very much worse nDid the sleep clinic not have any suggestions? There’s a fairly new technique called “sleep restriction” which some people swear by. I haven’t tried it yet (too tired!), it sounds good & I understand the theory behind it but you need to be quite motivated to undertake it

You sound like your'e suffering the same as me . i will check out the Sleepstation .Many thanks
I have the same exact problem as you! Are you still struggling with this?
Sorry to say ,but yes
Man, that stinks! It's nice to know that I'm not alone though. I thought I'd be the only one that drifts off then jerks awake. We'll figure out some way to correct it. If you do, please share any successful techniques. Right now mine consists of drugs and alcohol unfortunately
I know what you mean not much choice. I have asked my doctor to rerefer me to the sleep clinic but with the current virus problem they have shut down. If i find anything i will let you know.
Have you tried Nytol Herbal? They help me and no after effects. x
This is exactly what happened to me when I was trying a new inhaler. Very very unpleasant. I changed to a different one and I’ve been ok since then. Maybe you can substitute the medication that’s causing you this problem.
Funny you should say that .I have recently been prescribed Trimbow and for sometime since then my problem started
I would have a chat with your nurse or gp and see if you can change your inhaler. It will make all the difference to your well being if you can get it sorted. You may have to try a few different ones until you find one that suits you. Good luck!
I listen to audio books to help me get to sleep as part of a wind down sleep routine that takes about 40 minutes. When I have real sleeping problems, I use a melatonin under the tongue spray which can help - order it online.
