Pleurisy
Hi Binil, best painkiller. I had it last year, pretty painful and uncomfortable takes a while to get back to normal, but paracetamol was my friend to this time. Of course you can get in touch with GP, if its worsen.
Hope the painkiller will help!! Take care and keep safe!!💐💐💐
I am currently suffering with this too. Regular pain medication, hot water bottle, I have been advised to increase my steroid inhaler and not spend all day lying down. I still had an awful nights sleep. Hope you feel better soon.
Naproxian
Do avoid nurofen, don't need tummy troubles to add to your woes.
Important to keep trying to breath as deeply as you can bear. Could try a rolled up towel held under arm of affected side to get around.
If it’s “only” one side, try lying on that side. I know it sounds counterproductive but I was advised to do this and it actually really helps to have pressure on the bad side.
Some people swear by hot water bottles for the pain but personally, I prefer ice packs.
Make sure you’re taking paracetamol regularly too.
Much sympathy, I am prone to pleurisy and its so painful.
Thank you
I had it one one lung recently and a GP prescribed a 1 week course of antibiotics : within 10 days my lung was fine : so maybe a call/visit to your GP is in order ? Kevin
Thank you kevin
I have contacted my asthma nurse today and I am now on another lot of antibiotics, plus prescription pain relief in addition to normal inhaler (Fostair 100) increasing. Hope your symptoms soon ease.
Thank you
