I suspect we've all done it. I always get confused when there is choice between kg and no. Of items or something like that. If it's a question of substitutes the computer does it, with some odd results !

Online shopping is a revelation to me. Our daughter got two bags of pears last week so gave me one.

I find it quite exciting to see what actually turns up.

Soup, carrot cake, possibly peel Blanche and freeze. Xxxx

Not to worry. My wife was after 1lb of rice. Still not sure how 5kgs arrived but I think the one she normally as was out of stock. Going down the list she just kept going until she one that was in stock. Hence 5kg of rice...Lol... Happily we use a lot of rice but it is still going to take a few months to eat.

As already suggested carrot and coriander soup. I made a pot this week using just coriander spice jar because I had no fresh coriander and realised I had too many carrots to use. It was fine.

Finely grated, raw carrot in a salad is lovely.

You can also freeze carrots - see the link below for instructions.

Why not just par boil them for 3 minutes once cut up then freeze them for later use. I would do that or share around immediate neighbours
