I think some people who have a faith or a belief in a divine being might actually gather comfort from knowing that two love birds so to speak departed the world together .

Unfortunately i don't have that faith but even as a non believer i strangely get that comfort that they may perhaps be still journeying through the universe together. :)

My maternal grandparents did this, about 5 hours apart. Gran was in hospital long term, had slipped into a coma, as had secondary brain cancer. Grandpa had been visiting her daily, a difficult 2 bus journey. He had a heart attack and died on the bus. I was contacted in London, when I got down there and confirmed Grandpa's identity, I went into the hospital to tell Gran. Staff thought I was a little nuts, but Gran had always said, that although she believed in heaven, she would just as soon, he got there first. A few hours later, I had the telephone call at their home, telling me she had slipped away quietly, she got exactly what she wanted.

Although it may seem romantic for a couple who’ve been together all their lives to pass away close to each other, it’s also totally devastating for their children. I don’t think my husband and his sister who lost both parents suddenly in 2006 within a week of each other have ever recovered.

How sad and yet in a weird way romantic that they should pass away together. They'll be skipping around together now x
