Going on a bear hunt?

Came across a request to put a teddy in the window, so that parents out walking with their children, can go on a 'bear hunt' for their daily exercise. Just as well my husband Alan rescued a family of teddies who were auctioned at Peter Wilson Auctioneers, so I plan to change our window teddy every few days. Here's Mother Teddy keeping our cat Tinker company.

They have been doing this in my village for the last week. I went up into the Attic to fetch a few of my daughter's old ones to place in our upstairs window. There seems to be a lot of rainbows appearing in Windows drawn by the children.

Yes it’s a brilliant idea. I’ve got Tricky Woo and Curious George taking part!

That’s lovely Ergendl. I have a rainbow picture drawn by me with the names of my grandchildren on the picture. I also have a lovely little teddy in the window even though nobody passes by. Xxx

That's a great idea, I have quite a few teddy bears (gifts from my family over the years before they all passed away). Will try gathering them together & putting them at both windows in front room & maybe dining room as they can all be seen from the road & pavements. Maybe try changing animals & see if anybody notices. Chris

That’s a lovely idea, Ergendl...I’ll give it a try!

What a pity that it takes a terrible disease to bring out this wonderful community spirit. I do hope it carries on afterwards. 😁

Me too Don. Meant to ask how are you managing your shopping?

Between Sainsburys and kindly neighbours it couldn't be better. 😘

The bear in your window looks like a very wise old bear.

She does, doesn't she. The four bears were all collector pieces that no-one else wanted in the teddy bear sale. They do look like a family: Daddy, Mum, Adolescent and Child. I've placed Alan's old teddy amongst them as an adopted child. With his worn and grubby fur, he reminds me of that story, The Velveteen Rabbit.

That is a lovely idea Ergendl shame we don't have children pass by our window.

What a lovely idea, my little grandchildren love that story. Gosh I wish they'd be passing by but they live far away 😢 I'll get a chocolate bear next time I venture out to the shops to put in my window

Lots of lovely creative people around with spirit building ideas. x Might put one in our window though it's a cul de sac so only dwellers will probably pass. My daughter took her children on a bear hunt walk but used the book plot as they went along. Even the 2 year knows the words. x

That’s awesome, I’ve heard of the teddy walks here as well. I live in the woods and the coyotes, squirrels and bunnies are my only passer byers thankfully so no teddys in my windows plenty of birds tho-lol. Take care way to be a team player👍🏼

What a lovely idea, sadly we are not on a route as we live in a very rural spot with no pathways anywhere near. I would have enjoyed putting some of the many teddies polar bears and pandas in our window and sneakily watching the reactions of little ones.

Big kid me :)
