Merlin last year. Dogs enjoy receiving presents too - especially if they contain a soft grey teddy.
Great Excitement: Merlin last year... - Lung Conditions C...
Great Excitement
Hi
That brought back memories of one of my black Labs.
All the present were under the tree on Christmas eve....off we went to bed....we were woken up at 3.30am to the soung of crackling and crunching...it sounded like a fire...we jumped out of bed and ran downstairs fearing the worse...
There was our dog sitting under the Christmas tree in a mound of chewed up paper...a soft toy..a ball...and her doggie treats, all opened and being eaten. We cracked up laughing , she gave us such a guilty look
She had only opened her presents, bless her.

Hilarious! Sounds to me like a very sensible dog. It's that nose you know! You certainly couldn't tell her off after that.
I love anecdotes about dogs.
My black lab cross Cassie used to bite the eyes off any soft toy she was able to get near to.
Told you - Great excitement! heh heh.....he says thankyou and hopes for another similar this year because he has inadvertently had a chew at the ears.

Is he related to the flying nun!! Love those ears,he must look forward to Xmas ๐
heh heh....could well be related to the flying nun, except he is a lot bigger. He looks forward to every day.... meals, walks, playtimes, even his daily steroid, tramadol and glucosamine tablets because I wrap them up in a thin slice of ham....it doesn't touch the sides. The two of us a very compatible - we both like the same things, and in the evening we get comfy on the settee - he at one end and me at the other, me with my books and he with his dreams.
Sounds like the perfect company๐
He has no choice so it is easy Wendells. Thanks for your interest and nice letters.
he looks so much like my honey , but she likes the treats but don't really want to open the presents her self , will be jets first Christmas I think he will open his he tends to rip up any thing he can find
Sounds like it is to be wonderful mayhem at your house this Christmas Day. He will whip of the wrapping and she will be on stand by to grab what ever is going. I hope you will share any photographs with us.
dawn will be ready with the camera so will put a pic on , trouble with jet any toy you get he destroy it in minutes , we went to the rubbish tip the other day and in front of a skip they was one of those big white ton bags half full of brand new dog toys , balls, rings ,big bone shape throw toys a lot of them the squeak didn't work don't know where they had come round but guess it must have been a load of rejects I ask the man there if I could take a few he said yes so got 4 and took them home we poured boiling water over them just to make sure they was clean gave him one of the rubber ones shaped like a big bone with in 5 mins he had chewed the end of so had to put it in the bin
Oh what a fantastic picture love labs so much and miss mine it was great to walk them in the woods when it was snowing
You must miss them terribly. They are special and great fun. I don't want to think of life without him. I'm 76 and have had Labs all my life - five in total, and all had good long robust lives . ... I look like one - same shape..... and now Merlin has sadly developed arthritis it has slowed his walking down somewhat - and mine too now I have copd so we are a good pair. He has his tramadol, medrone and glucosamine and I have my Fostair and salamol ! Oh the glories of getting older
