Shielding and asthma?

Hi,

I have a question, I thought I might get a letter about shielding because of the inhalers I’m on, steroid use and a hospital admission last year but nothing yet.

I tried asking my GP and he said no one with asthma is getting a letter only people with cystic fibrosis or cancer are....I really don’t think that’s right but I’m stuck, I asked him twice and he said he’s very sure, so I don’t know what to do now?

Any help would be amazing, I really don’t want to take any risks right now.

Thank you!!

You can check the Gov.uk website for a list of conditions that mean you should receive the shielding advice letter. Severe Asthma is on the list, maybe could refer to this if you approach your GP again x

Dont see it as a decision you have to take Kat whether to shield or not. Severe asthma is on the list so whether or not you have a letter, just do it anyway. Many severe lung conditions re not getting letters but we need to shield. I gave up trusting authorities long ago! :)
