Still Confused?

Thank you to Ski School, who has provided more clarity than the receptionists at my GPs.

I dutifully rung my GP to no avail. I had a text message over two weeks ago which said I had been identified in an at-risk group and refer to self distancing on the govt. website etc.

Receptionist said if I'd received this text, that is all I would receive and to refer to govt. website again.

What puzzles me is that on the Govt. website it tells you to contact your GP if you have not received a letter.

All very confusing, but I certainly don't want to waste anyone's time.

Has anyone done a bit better than me, by ringing their GP or have they had a similar response from a GP's receptionist?

No text, no letter and no joy with GP either. We’re not worrying about any of it and just getting through each day.

Wishing you well. Xxxx

Yes,

My tendency is to agree with you. I'll give up thinking about it and just get on with it!

What a sensible reply.

Thanks

It's a case of taking things day by day and one step at a time at present.

The government website about registering as high risk seems to be only to register your need for food deliveries or other errands. Im excellently catered for at the moment by friends and our street WA group so that doesnt apply and I dont want to register and maybe take up someone else's place. Maybe Im misunderstanding it.

Still not received a high risk letter although my GP told me I am registered as such at the surgery. At one level I dont mind - I know what I need to do - but it might be important if I had to call up e.g. 111.

It may well be important in the future,if registered 111 will be aware that you have the potential for serious complications developing that may require more intensive monitoring if slf isolating alone, also it may be of assistance to medical teams as background info should you be admitted who may be able to drill down into your known medical history to gain guidance for your treatment.

Just my spin on things jean and i would register but tick that you do not require food packages or other support on offer except prescription if you are not able to access your normal source. :) xx

Hi O2,

Yes, it could be important if you had you ring 111. Let's hope that if we shield ourselves that won't have to happen.

Take care

No joy either, even the practice manager at my GP had no knowlege but did tell me to ring a government helpline that it seems will only help you if you have a letter...you could'nt make it up could you ? Wish I knew what to do xx
