Does the coronavirus give you pleurisy ?

in reply toComino2

Coronavirus attacks the respiratory systems, just read about about the Coronavirus to understand things more.

webmd.com/lung/coronavirus

You can search webmd for pleuresy also for further information.

I was not aware that the virus could give you pleurisy.I have a basic understanding of both coronavirus and pleurisy but wondered why you felt the need to include it in your reply.I have not read anywhere of a connection and was interested.

You asked the question?

I replied to your question.

I don't believe I had suggested what you mention.

Originally I was replying to Freiston about pleuresy, unknown why I referred to coronavirus as well. I appear to be replying to something that has since been removed. So I will go back and edit my originally reply to Freiston, thanks for bringing this to my attention :)

Stay safe and well.

I was off 5 weeks last year, takes its toll on you, really wipes you out, drink plenty fluids and rest when you feel tired. Hope your better soon x

From experience pleurisy can take weeks to get over. Rush recovery and you will find that you will only cause another flair. Much better to be 100% before returning to work.

Hello in the current situation i would not risk going back to work while your immune system is low and risk getting coronavirus or a relapse take care

I was off for a month with pleurisy last year it was awful- it took months to feel ‘normal’ again. I had been poorly with continuous colds/chest infections in November/December then off work in January mid February. Take as long as you need, I thought I felt better so went back after 2 weeks but obviously wasn’t so was off for a further 2 weeks.

I would say a year on I still feel a niggle in my side when I have the beginnings of a cold and have been told I have adult onset asthma so have to use inhalers daily. It’s not worth rushing back and risking yourself a relapse in this climate either.

Take care and take it easy! Xxx
