Whilst in lockdown I am mostly wearing....oops, wrong list.....reading Patricia Highsmith: The Talented Mr Ripley; some of the China Novels, by Peter May, and Kolomsky Heights. What are you getting through? All suggestions welcome. to relieve the boredom.

Ooh I’ll check out the China novels, love a good thriller. I’m currently addicted to Scandi noir so am reading Jo Nesbo, Camilla Lackberg, Yrsa Sigurdardottir etc. They quite often come up for 99p on Kindle. Love Ann Cleeves’ Shetland novels too

I’m not reading at the moment but I do read avidly when I’m on holiday. I’m partial to a good murder. My favourite was the Harry Bosch books by Michael Connelly. I think I have read them all.

I also recently read Graham Norton’s book, title of which escapes me, but I did enjoy it. ( Surprisingly.)

I have dipped into Michael Connolly, a really convincing Irish crime novelist. Good choice Troilus.

Just finished Kate Atkinson’s latest, Big Sky. Ann Cleeves’ The Long Call is next and I bought Wolf Hall last week. I was a Hilary Mantel fan before she embarked on the historical stuff. Eight months on Ghazzah Street was the first of hers I read and can recommend it. I’ve got a notion to reread Le Carré’s Smiley books but there are so many new authors to try. Oh and Barbara Kingsolver’s Unsheltered is very good.

I read all sorts of books and so thankful for my kindle, I have appalling eye sight, great that I can still read.

Check out Diana Galaboden (sp) she’s written six or seven books in the Outlander series. Well written and well researched, part historical, part romantic (not sloppy romance) covers everything really.

One of those I might re-read is A Suitable Boy by Vikram Seth. It's a great book to escape into. First read about 20yrs ago when I spent several weeks ill in bed. It's 1500 pages (hence a bit heavy to hold for very long) but it really is right up there as one of the very best novels of modern times (not just my opinion!)
