Hi, I find if I do nothing my back is fine. I can’t carry things in front of me for more than a few seconds and I hate washing up and preparing meals. It all gives me pain. I’m much better than when my back first wedge fractured but still do get pain. I’m two years on now from being in hospital with it. Are your fractures fairly recent ? because it’s taken me all this time to even be reasonably better. The consultant told me that a lot of people with the same problem are saying the same as me. They say excercise will help but with what’s happening at the moment we can’t get much excercise.

I also suffer horrible pain from reflux. I’m taking 40 mcg s of Omeprazole a day to control it but still suffer from pain if I eat the wrong thing. I had a couple of custard creams a couple of days ago and that set it off.

My Bp also can go very high or low. So in a very similar situation to you.

If I’m worried or stressed it goes up high. Just going to the Drs makes it go up.

Bless yer yes fracture was fairly recent a few weeks ago and 2 last year started my duretic today for high BP from ngers crossed I get no side effects

Probably the only side effects is that you need to go to the loo every few minutes for a couple of hours. I took them for a while and if I wanted to go out in the morning I had to get up a couple of hours before to have to keep going to the loo. Once they’ve worked though you don’t need to go so much after. You’ll be fine.

As for the pain. I was in agony at first but two years on I’m back to doing everything. Still got back pain sometimes though but not anywhere near as bad. Rest when it's really bad but try to do a little. If it’s only walking around it helps.

First time excruciating pain so bad second not as bad but still painful same with this one but pain went through to my chest so affected my breathing like I needed anymore of that u rest up keep well Hun😃

Like I say. I sympathise with you. Nobody knows what agony it is until you’ve had these fractures. I’m always worried it’s going to happen again. I’m on injections which I give myself every day. That is for two years. I also take calcium tablets. Two a day. After two years of the injections I will have to have an injection every six months for the rest of my life.

Have they suggested this to you or are you on Allendronic acid tablets. I only took one and was so sick. I’ve got a dodgy stomach anyway which I already said. You need to be on something if you’re having back fractures. Have you had a decal scan yet. Mine was very bad at minus 5.5

Sorry that was meant to be a dexa scan. The auto correct thinks it knows better. 😂😁

I hope you will be able to take something to strengthen your bones soon as you are so at risk of another fracture. Mind you I’m taking these injections and it’s only likely to give me another ten or twenty per cent more bone mass. I’ve just been out to wash up and was reminded of how my back aches. I sit down, then go back and do some more.

Little but often I'm short of breathe as I'm also stage 4 emphysemic so I actually don't like moving now I'm on a duretic going to the loo all the time 🙄 can't win that amount doesn't seem a lot for those injections at least it's something I guess I'm also on calcium and vit d have been for years but still fracture different parts of my body not fair is it my doctor's not very helpful to be honest and we clash I hope u get on better with yours as mine no emphathy 😭

My Dr is quite good but I haven’t been for ages and don’t particularly want to at the moment.

I had breathing problems starting back in April. I did phone her then and she gave me some advice. I’m still having breathing problems first thing in the morning but don’t want to have to go down. I’m due to see my consultant I think in October or November so I’m trying to hang on until then.

I’ve broken my hand, three fractures in my back, several toes have broken and I broke a bone in my foot. It’s all healed pretty well so I consider myself lucky.
