Hi , I’m wondering if anyone has been exposed to fibre glass and had burning sensation in there chest with sharp pains and tightness and if so do these symptoms subside with time and will it get better or worse I did a exhaust wrap and didn’t realise that it was fibre glass til I looked at my t shirt that was covered in tiny fibres my arms were itching and since then my chest is tight and my chest burns especially at night I’m really worried that I may have caused lasting damage anyone been through this and could offer some advice it would be greatly appreciated

I used to install fibreglass in lofts as insulation, we had barrier clothing and masks ,( which were useless), at the end of a job I noticed the inside of the paper masks had fibreglass on the inside , (you could feel it if you rubbed your finger down the inside ).

I now have that painful inflammed feeling in my chest ( I have copd as well) but if you tell the gp they just lump it in with the copd diagnosis ( I used to remove asbestos as well for a few years) , all I can suggest is to take anti inflammatory medication for the pain ( cocodamol) and see your gp but ask to be referred to a pulmonary specialist.

Thank you both for your replies going to ring my gp today hoping that it doesn’t affect my fitness as I’m a firefighter and very active feel so stupid that I should of checked first before fitting but came with no warning info or fitting instructions
