Coronavirus risk with Bronchiectasis

Hi all

I know I’m stating the obvious in that if you have Bronchiectasis as I do, then you’re in the higher risk group for getting coronavirus severely. I’ve not seen it mentioned in the official “ at risk group” other then lung disease. Asthma is mentioned which I also have.

Just wondered if anyone has anymore info re this? Eg has a specialist mentioned it? Goes without saying I’m taking all measure I can to avoid it!

Keep as well as possible everyone x

this has already been posted about previously, basically Bronchiectasis is treated no differently than other high risks groups.

Lots to study here for you: healthunlocked.com/blf/post...

check out commentst toward end of the post, paying attention to the .gov link and NHS link.

Be sure to read all on the .gov page

Take good care.

Thanks Bkin... will do

Yes told my consultant last week that I am taking the measures now recommended for high risk groups. She said I was absolutely right. Don't expect them to mention bronch. Most people don't know about it but have heard of cf and asthma. Particularly the media. We know how badly we can be affected, we don't need anyone to tell us what to do. Stay safe.

Thanks Littlepom as of course I knew that was the advice which I’m taking. However, good to have it confirmed by a consultant and I’m glad you replied ... you should be an official representative for Bronchiectasis with your life long acquired knowledge! Doesn’t surprise me Bronchiectasis isn’t mentioned as it’s relatively unheard of cf to other lung conditions. X
