I read a post from a lady who has the virus, she has emphysema also, she said the cough was bad and the soar throat was not nice, had the fever also, what she stated was it was not as bad as she expected and slowly getting over it, she did isolate herself and was still in isolation in her home, she stated she will not go out for two weeks, she is also elderly, this is the second post i saw from someone who also had it and the second one stated the cough was really bad, plus a fever, he said he would feel recovered then it would return this went on for over a week then he was better but will not go out for two weeks, i write this saying old people with emphysema or copd will get over it, it will not be nice but it is nice to hear from people who had it and recover, hope this helps in some way

A lot depends on the severity of your emphysema and with the severity of mine i doubt i would even survive bacterial pneumonia let alone an untreatable viral pneumonia so unfortunately i feel it is more sensible for me to self isolate at the moment. :(

I survived pneumonia in 2018 [just] I remember just thinking I've got to get out of this boiling hot ward and get some fresh air, strangely that was what kept me going.I'll show you my fev1 if you show me yours :-) I bet it's a close call !! Anyhow, there is no gin oclock in the wards so you will definately make an escape and with a car bootfull of 02 and a top secret copy of the the new dates of the posponed footy matches :-) xx

Comino2 profile image

Yes we drink a lot of it down south,

A sharp antiseptic aroma reminiscent of pine needles ,a tad harsh on the throat with a crisp finish,I believe

not for the fainthearted [or northern softies] xx

My goodness,it was a long time ago,I was about 13.I remember the restaurant being pretty grotty.Am I right in thinking there was a place for children to play called Aquarina or something like that ? xx I have just done a bit of reasearch it was in the Peter Pans playground and I was taken there as a very young child from where I was staying in Shoreham by Sea xx

sassy59 profile image
sassy59 in reply toComino2

Yes there was the Aquarina of old but that’s all changed now. Peter Pans playground was very popular, all gone now. Xxxx

Thank you for posting bobby Floyd I think all on this site need a little lifting tonight but I still think take extra care . Self isolate now don’t wait to be told it’s your your lungs your life your family what you haven’t got do without phone your surgery your meds can be delivered. Order your shopping on line someone in your family will help u do that . And so what if they don’t have any toilet paper left in a few weeks time we will be out there celebrating and it will be a lovely feeling WE DID IT WE MADE IT WE WON Thinking of you xxx

I wonder if either of them are on oxygen at home. I just ask as I heard a comment on the news in the early days of the outbreak that people with at home oxygen are the lucky ones. So was wondering if that had anything to do with there recovery.

stay safe everyone.

Uplifting news bobbyfloyd, thanks for posting. I also read that the health minister Nadine Dorries and her 84 year old mother are recovering from coronavirus and the mother has come throught his better than her daughter, she said "We old northerners are made of much tougher stuff than you young ones" and maybe that is what will help to pull us through x

Yes thank you Bobby. I have left my small choir reluctantly as i am supposed to sing for lung exercise, and have ordered one ton of stones for my garden, i figured as i am alone that could take months to distribute around the garden while i isolate and pass the time away. Take care, sops

My sister works in a hospital and at home currently with what sounds like it but no testing offered just told to stay home for 7 days. She has autoimmune problems. She is doing well but felt really unwell with sore throat and horrid coughing but no high fever.

People do have it and recover from it and therefore have some immunity for next time but the isolation period does break the chain.

A worrying time for us all but we must stay positive.

Im self isolating without symptoms because im vulnerable but of course my husband could bring it home but we know what to do.

If we know how to protect ourselves this will help us stay calm.
