Bronchiectasis help and tips on managing it
I'm sure it will help with restoring vital nutrients therefore boosting your immune system to help fight regular bugs.
Many of us take Carbocysteine a mucylotic (spelling)? Helps to moisten mucus making it easier to expel.
I take zinc, vit C, E, D . Seems to help. There are many foods high in vit C , just google. Good luck.
Hello Readerxx
From what l have read Metatone contains vitamin B1 ( thiamine), plus small amounts of calcium, potassium and manganese.
Other vitamins and minerals which may help are vitamin D, Ester c ( a non acidic form of vitamin c ) , B complex which includes B12, zinc ( usually with added copper as they work in synergy).
My late husband was a teacher, we used to take a herbal tonic that is reputed to help with tiredness, recovery after illness and support immune system, it is pleasant tasting syrup called Bio Strath. He felt it helped him .
Also depending on nutrients needed and what you want from the supplement, there are tonics by Floradix, some are aimed at low iron, others at heart health, digestion, etc.
However as with any supplements, herbal products etc please do ensure they are suitable for you, with any health conditions you have and are safe to use with your medication.
Take care, keep safe. 🌺
Hi Reader and welcome to the site. There has been alot of advice give on previous posts so have a search on bronchiectasis and see the comments.
The best thing you can do with this disease is to clear your chest of mucus everyday as this is what makes you cough and starts up infections. I take mucoydyne to help thin out the mucus, use Seretide inhaler, take vit d, c, k2 mk7, I have a healthy diet and take plenty of exercise. I also have rheumatoid arthritis so combined with bronchiectasis I suffer fatigue almost daily, rest is very important and anything that is compatible with your meds will benefit you, speak with your gp or consultant. I have a problem with my sinus's so this is a constant problem with mucus and keeping that under control is a daily task, I use a nasal wash (Sterimar) twice a day and a steroid nasal spray. Hope all this helps a little for you to better understand your condition . Irene x
