Hi Tony, you must do what you feel is right for you and your family. If you would feel better self isolating then do it. Please let us know how you are getting on, enjoy your weekend and take care of yourself and your family 😊 Bernadette xx

People are becoming confused with the term self isolation. Especially in regard to self protection. This virus could not peak for weeks and then still go on for months. Therefore any isolation would need to to be for similar periods. My own personal belief is when the virus is at its peak the NHS will struggle to cope. One due to the numbers involved and secondly the numbers of workers within the NHS who will catch it During this time. If you go into isolation you must except it will not be for a short period and to be safe it could be for months. My daughter is very worried and having takes to her she realises the difference between contact and protective isolation.

I have already moved to working from home. Groceries are delivered. As far as possible I'm avoiding face to face human interaction. People can think what they want of me but having already experienced the 'joys' of ARDs I am in no hurry to revisit that particular memory lane.

I saw my pain doc on Friday. She told me to go home and hibernate. I am immune deficient and have Vasculitis and Bronchiectasis. She said the situation is worse than we are being told and at my age 63 I wouldn’t be priority for a ventilator. We will be advised to stay home at some stage but it’s up to individuals if they want to make that call earlier. As they are no longer testing you won’t know if the virus is in your area or not. It’s a hard call but I think you can still go out as long as you avoid face to face contact with others. I wish everyone well whatever they decide.
