Inhaler orders

I was just wondering if I should order my inhalers in advance for my COPD as I was in the shops today and realized how bad the panicked buying has become so should I be worried about getting my inhalers.

Anyone have any ideas or advice

Absolutely, safest thing. Ive been stockpiling since way back during Brexit. And since now Im using half the amount that I was in the autumn, if I can carry on with that amount (2x2puffs daily of Symbicort) Ive got several months' worth stored up. Neither my pharmacist nor my surgery appear to check my repeat prescriptions. Im ordering at the normal rate now and keeping up with current usage so I will maintain the extra.

Over the last year I have been ordering my inhalers early. At present I have about a 3 month safety net and a two month margin with my other medications. My daughter works in a chemist shop and shakes her head as she said there will be no shortages. However being a belt and braces man I feel far more secure when its physically in my cupboard.

Hi Teresa, I would phone your surgery and seek advice. My husband called into our surgery the other day and the reception staff told him to make sure I had all my meds as our surgery is only taking emergency appointments from this Monday. Needless to say I made an order straight away. The receptionist on duty phoned me and queried the order as my meds were not due yet but when I explained why I wanted the extra inhalers and pain relief not to mention my emergency drugs were coming to the end of their use by dates she relented and said she would ensure the chemist had the script within the next two days. If you do not ask you do not get. If I and you for that matter need to self isolate we will need our meds to stay well. Take care, Maximonkey
