What we certainly have is a pandemic of fear. The entire planet's media is gripped by coronavirus. It is right that there is deep concern and mass planning for worst-case scenarios. And, of course, the repercussions move from the global health sphere into business and politics.

Also, figures have just been released showing that at 9am today there were 319 cases compared with 278 at the same time yesterday gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus...

This is a 15% increase, lower than last few days, which might (hopefully) indicate people are being sensible about hand washing etc.

Hidden take note, this is good because the longer we can delay, the better therapeutic options will be available. I do feel for you, it’s horrible to be anxious, and personally I’ve no objection to you posting your worries here, though maybe you could be a bit less sensationalist. Stop reading the Daily Mail 😊

I think the media have been totally irresponsible in its reporting and in many ways so as the government. The sad fact is there are still too many unknowns which as lead to speculation to the outcome of the spread. Of course the worst case scenarios sell more papers and get published. There is little balance in the reporting of the disease and of course the reporting of panic in some individuals as caused more panic and so on. I just wonder how much of the panic is media induced and would not have happened otherwise. I keep being told I am vulnerable but how vulnerable? Is it a 1 in 10 chance? 1 in 5? 1 in 20? It is no wonder anxiety is rampantly spreading.
